Years ago I travelled to the North West Frontier Province of Pakistan, and was based in Peshawar, the main Pakistani town on the Afghan border. The Khyber Pass runs from Peshawar right through to Kabul. In Peshawar were Afghan refugee camps, the people living in adobe huts having fled the Soviet invasion. The children were happy letting me take their pictures. Not a single person asked for a handout, instead they tried to sell me items to make some money.
